FIRE COMMISSIONERS |
Fire District 40 Commissioners are elected officials who represent the concerns and interest of you, the citizens of the community. We oversee finances, equipment, capital improvements, and general fire department operations. We meet at 4:30 PM on the second and last Thursday of each month at our Headquarters Station located at 18002 180th Ave SE.
We are always interested in what you have to say, so please feel free to attend the meetings to learn more about what is going on in your fire department. There is an opportunity at the end of the meeting to ask questions or share your ideas and concerns. If you are unable to attend, feel free to e-mail or write to us.

THE ECONOMY AND YOUR FIRE SERVICE
We’re all concerned about the economy – such negative news. But here’s some GOOD NEWS: your emergency service is here if ever you need it!
After the Benson Hill/Cascade neighborhood voted to annex into the City of Renton last November, King County Fire District 40 negotiated with the City of Renton to provide for your ultimate safety.
BETTER NEWS: the negotiated contract provides fire and emergency staffing equaling or exceeding the National Fire Protection Agency [NFPA] standards (a fully-staffed aid unit and 4-person fire engine on duty 24/7, as well as meeting locally adopted response time standards. District 40’s employees (those who wished to) now work for the City of Renton Fire and Emergency Services Department. So look for the familiar faces you remember – they’re still here!
BEST NEWS: even if other governmental agencies experience a shortfall from a slow economy, you’re still protected because services to District 40 cannot change per provisions of the contract!
King County Fire District 40 can’t solve the current economic situation, but we can assure you that your safety will not be affected. In the event of an emergency, the highest trained professional firefighters, EMT’s, and support staff will respond to your need within minutes.
Just dial 9-1-1!
